Jon and Gulla got in touch in September 2019 to tell me that they were HUGE Liverpool FC fans and that they'd booked to have their dream wedding at Anfield on 3rd April 2020 and that they'd love me to capture it for them! A month or so later they flew over from their hometown of Reykjavik, Iceland to Liverpool for a short break and we met up for a bite to eat at Nandos. I could see at that moment that not only were they very much in love but also best friends! Fast forward to early 2020 and we are swapping emails back and to, arranging all the details for the big day in April.... Then...... the world turned upside down.... Corona.... and like so many other couples, their amazing day evaporated and they had to come up with Plan 2.0. Plan 2.0 started to come together and it turned out that the wedding was going to take place in Reykjavik and Jon asked if I would come over for the week and photograph and film their wedding there. I've been to Iceland before and it's one of the most stunning places on earth, so naturally I jumped at the opportunity. So fast forward (again) to August 2020 and I've packed my camera gear, packed a case and jumped on an Easyjet to Keflavik! After a week exploring Iceland, Jon and Gulla's big day was here!

 

What a day it was! Despite my lack of understanding the Icelandic language, it was one of the most fun, entertaining, enjoyable weddings I've captured! From the preparations in the morning, to the church service and wedding ceremony, to the night reception, there was never a dull moment! The dancing carried on late in to the night and it was an absolute pleasure to be part of it! Jon and Gulla have also broken a record.... They can proudly boast they now own the longest Documentary Edit Video I've ever produced! Amazing couple, amazing wedding and an amazing country to have captured it in!
